Richard Charles Heitmeyer

Richard “Ricky” Heitmeyer born August 5, 1991, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2017. Ricky attended Palos Verdes High School graduating in 2009 with honors and a passion for soccer.

He attended UC Santa Cruz focusing in Environmental Studies with the intention of making a difference in the world. After college, he pursued a career with the U.S. Postal Service. Like his father, he was a river rat. He left this world too soon but lived his life to the fullest. Ricky charmed the world with his charisma and was loyal and loving to all he knew.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, “Herbie” Heitmeyer. He is survived by his mother, Lynn Heitmeyer; brother, Ryan; sisters, Stacie (Brian) Tully, Lindsay (fiancé, Josh Cannon) Heitmeyer, Sarah Heitmeyer; grandfather, Arthur Jean and grandmother, Betty Heitmeyer along with his girlfriend, Bethany Beatty.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: CJD Foundation @ cjdfoundation.org in Ricky’s father’s name (Herbert Heitmeyer). A memorial service is planned to celebrate Ricky’s 26 years of life beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, August 23rd ,2017 from 4:30pm-7:00pm at Green Hills Mortuary, 27501 S. Western, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, followed by a service on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11:00 am on the hilltop of Green Hills. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com .
