Richard "Rick" Gaunt, 67, of Torrance, CA, passed away, Monday, December 12, 2016 at his home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 20 at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church, 1900 S. Prospect Avenue, Redondo Beach. A Private burial will follow.
Rick was born December 25, 1948 in New Jersey to Alvin and Margaret Gaunt. He moved to California when he was 10 and remained. On April 8, 1967 he married the love of his life, Janis Hurst. Rick started Gaunt Construction when he was 19 years old when he built his first house and remained active in construction until his death.
Rick is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janis, his two sons, Rickie (Denice) Gaunt of Torrance, Erick (Shannon) Gaunt of Torrance and his daughter Leisa (Scott) Irvine of Rolling Hills Estates.; nine grandchildren Mavrick, Chasen, Baron, Bronson, Morgan, Makena, Garrett, Katey and Jake; his brother Garry Gaunt and his sister Patricia (Butch) Reutter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and mailed to Perris Auto Speedway, 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, CA 92571. Note Rick Gaunt-Perris Auto Speedway on the memo line.
