Richard A. Garcia

Richard Garcia, 85, a longtime resident of San Pedro, CA, died on March 10, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean, his son, Christopher, his daughter-in-law, Cindy, grandkids Andrew, Allysa, and Nicholas, brother, Elias (Helen), and many nieces & nephews. Rich was raised in Venice, CA and after he and Jean married, lived in L.A., Gardena, and lastly, San Pedro.

Rich worked for many years at Sunnyglen Construction as a Superintendent and really enjoyed the job. He also worked for a short time in naval housing. He spent lots of time volunteering in the ceramic department of Harbor College. He excelled in hand-building large sculptures. Rich was an usher at Holy Trinity at 7 am Mass for many years.

Travel by cruising was one of his favorite things to do besides camping and fishing in the Eastern Sierras. With his friendly, open personality, he made friends wherever he went. He will be missed.

In lieu of flowers or Koden, a donation to Mary Star of the Sea High School would be appreciated.
