Richard Craig Blum, affectionately known as Craig died peacefully, surrounded by his family in Torrance California on Saturday November 25th at 9:30 am at the age of 85.
Craig is survived by his loving wife Pearl, daughters Melanie, Stephanie, Marissa, son Christopher and his fourteen grandchildren.
Craig was born on May 8, 1938, in Los Angeles, California to Richard and Carolyn Blum. Craig attended Westchester High School and Santa Monica College. He began working at Hughes Aircraft and later with TRW in aerospace. He spent seven years as an Air Force reservist.
He met his wife Pearl and enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage together. His notable interests were photography, aviation, and electronics. He was a Boy Scout troop leader and led many summer camps including a hike to the top of Mount Whitney and camping in the crater of Haleakala in Maui.
Services for Craig is scheduled for Sunday, December 17th at 10:00am at the Green Hills Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca with a reception to follow at the home of Paul and Stephanie Gomez in Rancho Palos Verdes. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Craig's life.
