Rebecca Sue Kendrick

Beckie Kendrick beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister lost her battle with cancer and gained her standing in the heavenly congregation. She is survived by her husband, Bill Kendrick, daughter Kelly Garcia, Son Timothy Kendrick, and five granddaughters, Lily, Mia, Emilia, Everly and Madeline, brother Scott Pettit, and sister, Jackie Cathey. Beckie was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Phyllis Pettit.

Beckie was born Rebecca Sue Pettit on December 11, 1953 in Waterloo Iowa. At the age of one the Pettit family moved to California. She graduated in 1972 from Torrance High School and worked at Moore’s Market in Malaga Cove. She met her husband, Bill, and married in 1977. They shared 45 wonderful years together raising their two children in their Harbor City home.

Beckie went on to work at Torrance Unified School District as a cafeteria manager. She loved working with children which was one of her lifelong passions. Their home was a welcomed haven for all her children’s friends many whom considered her a second mom. She loved Bingo and Bunco with her sister-in-law, Daniele. She was a dedicated team mom for both her children’s sports activities at Narbonne High School. She was an avid fan and attended almost every football game from 1993 to 2018. She loved watching football, particularly her Green Bay Packers.

Beckie loved her Lord and Savior. She had a servant’s heart working with the food ministries, vacation bible school, and many church activities.

Beckie peacefully entered heaven on June 22nd surrounded by her loved ones. She continues watching over her family while in the presence of the Lord.
