Ray passed away on March 5, 2012 peacefully in his sleep, in Rolling Hills, CA.
He was born April 14, 1949 in Los Angeles, to Edna Rose Perrault and Frederick Perrault, and spent his entire life living in Southern California, with nearly forty years on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Ray graduated from San Diego State in 1970 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He immediately started working at the family business that, his father started in 1952. He became the CEO and President of RESEARCH TOOL & DIE WORKS, where he continued until his death. His firm of over 55 employees manufactures marine electrical hardware for shipyards all across the United States and Canada. His area of expertise was to take an idea from a customer and develop it into a part they could use, and at the same time save them time and money. His talents over the years have earned him multiple patents and the respect of many shipbuilders throughout the world.
Ray was a long time member of the Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club and an active member of the Rolls-Royce Owners' Club. He served as an officer of the California Metals Coalition and a previous officer of Precision Metalforming Association. He loved to travel the world with his wife, Karen, and they spent their 40th anniversary on a Photo Safari in Africa. He also enjoyed travel with his children, their spouses and all four of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his Wife, Karen, his daughter Tami (37) and her spouse Brandon Johnson, his son Kevin (33) and his wife Anjale, and his four wonderful grandchildren Tanner (10), Harley (7), Keaton (5) and Mason (3).
Services will be held at Green Hills Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012. Public viewing will be held the same day between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.
