Raymond D. Asaro

Ray Asaro peacefully passed away and entered eternal life on December 15th, 2014. His spirit and memory are survived by his two children Denise and Frank, Three Grandchildren Tony, Marco, and Nikki, as well as extended family and friends that he cherished from all walks of life. Ray was born in Lawndale, CA in 1928 to Italian immigrant parents. He was the third son born to Frank and Margaret Asaro. His parents worked tirelessly and sacrificed to ensure their boys a chance at the American Dream. They also instilled in them the importance of family and tradition. At an early age Ray developed a diligent work ethic and a love of family that continued throughout his life. Anyone that knew Ray, affectionately known by family and friends as "pops", would agree that he was truly one of a kind. His infectious and distinctive personality naturally drew respect and love from all of those around him. He was never apprehensive about speaking his mind. His headstrong, willful persona made him notorious. It was usually followed by a wide grinned smile and a hearty laugh. In his lifetime Ray or "pops" left a deep impact on many lives, whether this came from being a trusted friend, advisor, loving father, or supportive grandfather. The memories of Ray will be recalled with warmth, gratitude, and many laughs. For those who were lucky enough to be a part of his life, Ray would be at peace knowing that these memories were shared with love and laughter. He will be greatly missed but he will never be forgotten. A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2014 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Green Hills Mortuary 27501 South Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275 A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2014 at 1:30pm at St. James Catholic Church 415 Vincent St. Redondo, CA 90277.
