Raman Raj

Raman Raj passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 28, 2018, at the age of 68. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Mrinalini; his mother, Lakshmi Devi Raj; his son, Nehal; his daughter-in-law, Jenny; his grandchildren, Lila and Arjun; as well as extended family in both the United States and India.

Born in Hyderabad, India, Raman graduated from Nizam College in 1970 with a degree in Economics, and moved to the United States in 1971 to pursue his M.B.A. at Hardin-Simmons University.

Most recently, Raman was Founder and Principal of Resources Roundtable Consulting, a public sector advocacy group focused on municipal utilities in Southern California. Prior to this, Raman served as the Chief Operating Officer at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and as a Managing Director of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA). Raman also held senior management positions at Kaiser Permanente, The Flying Tigers and The Southland Corporation.

Raman will be remembered for his love and generosity. His was a life well lived, and his laughter and sense of humor will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 11:30am at Green Hills Memorial Park, located at 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
