Throughout her long, healthy and fruitful life, Raissa established the first kindergarten in the city of Birjand, Iran. Her high education at the time allowed her to teach the young kids who eagerly attended her classes to learn and become productive members of their society. A large number of her students landed important positions both in Iran and overseas (including the U.S. and Europe). Raissa received her higher education (Bachelor’s in Russian Literature and Master’s in Education) when it was still quite rare and uncommon for Iranian women to pursue it. In addition to her higher education, and her career as a teacher, she was a talented artist with exceptionally beautiful handwriting and quite well-versed in photography, painting and Persian Miniature art.
She loved life, loved people. Raissa treated everyone the same as if she knew you all her life and was instantly your friend.
She was a loving daughter to Mama Noosh, and exemplary mother to her own children who helped and nurtured them to be well educated and fruitful members of the society. She adored her grandchildren and always wanted to see them be at their best. Raissa lived long enough to see three adorable great grandchildren.
She is survived by the love of her life, Hossein, who have been married together for over 70 years.
She will be definitely missed; indeed a big loss to the Iranian society and by her circle of friends and relatives far and near whom dearly cherished and loved her with fond memories.
We would love to read your messages and memories during the funeral service. Please feel free to add yours below in lieu of flowers.
