He was born on January 11, 1947 in Tangancicuaro, Michoacán, Mexico and had been a long time resident of Wilmington, California.
Rafael is survived by his beloved children, Magy Chavez, Lucy Aguilera, Ralph Chavez and Cecilia Ortega.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11am in Green Hills Memorial Chapel, Rancho Palos Verdes, California followed by interment.
