Rachel Meraz

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mother, Rachel Meraz. She was a beloved Mother, Sister and Aunt and friend. Rachel passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 88.

Rachel was born and raised in San Pedro. Rachel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony Meraz Sr. "Bones",
Rachel met her soulmate and love of her life Tony, in San Pedro while in Jr. High and the two of them were inseparable ever since. You would see them holding hands and socializing around town quite often. They married in 1955 and were married 65 years. Rachel is survived by her two children Tony Meraz Jr. and Julie Meraz of Long Beach.

Rachel was born on July 20th 1936, in San Pedro to Lucy and Isabel Rodriguez and was the youngest of 5 children. Her siblings include Molly Lomeli, Sylvia Ponce, and preceded in death by her sister Stella Jimenez and Brother Manual Garcia.

We love you Mom! We will carry your love in our hearts always and you are going to be missed terribly, until we meet again. Rachel will be a loving memory to all who knew her.

The viewing is Thursday, Jan. 23rd 4:30-7:30pm, Rosary at 6:00pm at Green Hills Cemetery Chapel. The Mass and Interment Service will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 24th at 11:30 at Green Hills Chapel and Memorial Park and Cemetery and followed by the Graveside Committal Interment services.
