It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Protacio "Prots" Merza, a devoted father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend. Prots passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, in Harbor City, California, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Early Life & Education
Born on September 11, 1940, in Anda, Pangasinan, Philippines, Prots grew up with strong values and a deep sense of community. He was a proud alumnus of Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila, Philippines.

Professional Life
As a successful businessman in the Philippines, Prots built a reputation for integrity, reliability, and innovative leadership. His entrepreneurial spirit inspired many, and his contributions to the community were invaluable. Notably, he served as a Past Master in Dagupan Pangasinan Masonic Lodge 56.

Personal Life
Prots' greatest joy was his family. Married to his loving wife, Lita Merza, for 55 years, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they raised six children: Jo-Ann, Arlene, Oliva, Angela, Adrian, and Alvin, and welcomed eight grandchildren, whom he adored.
Prots was renowned for his jovial personality, earning him the nickname "Joker, life of the party." His infectious smile and warm heart made everyone feel welcome and loved.

Hobbies and Interests
Prots enjoyed watching CNN, basketball, and boxing, always staying informed and engaged with current events.

Legacy
Prots' impact extended far beyond his professional achievements. He was a kind and compassionate individual who touched countless lives through his selflessness, generosity, and unwavering support. His Catholic faith guided him, and he lived a life of service to others.

Memorial Services
A celebration of Prots' life, viewing, and rosary prayers will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park on December 27, 2024, Friday, from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The following day, a funeral service and mass will be held at the same location on December 28, 2024, Saturday, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. We welcome you to join us as we share stories, memories, and laughter.
