Pasamonte, Portia G. – July 29, 1929 – July 12, 2018 – passed away on July 12, 2018. Born in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. She obtained her nursing degree from North General Hospital in 1951. She came to the United States in 1955. She was married to David R. Pasamonte, a pastor in the United Methodist Church, in 1957. She graduated with a nursing degree from Boston University in Boston, MA. They moved to California in 1963 where she worked as a registered nurse wherever her husband was assigned. She was the consummate hostess to the many functions they hosted in the parsonages they lived in. She was a member of the UMW where she enjoyed making different crafts and projects for good causes. She loved music so she was always a member of the church adult choir and the bell choir when the church had one. She also learned how to make pottery and created a few figurines. Viewing is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Interment service is at 12 noon on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Green Hills Mortuary and Memorial Park, 27501 S Western Ave Rancho Palos Verdes. A memorial service will also be held on August 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Ana United Methodist Church, 2121 N Grand Ave in Santa Ana. A reception will follow after each service.
