It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phillip Andrew De Leon, affectionately known as Pee Wee, on January 18, 2025 at the age of 39. Born on June 22, 1985, to Tomas and Doreen De Leon, he grew up in Wilmington and was a proud graduate of Banning High School.
Growing up, Phillip was an amazing athlete. His love for baseball began at Peck Park, where he spent his childhood playing and led his team to an unforgettable L. A. City Championship in 1995. In high school his dedication and talent shone brightly, where he was given the nickname of “Flip”. Baseball remained a lifelong passion and while the Dodgers were his main team, he was also an avid fan of the Lakers, Trojans and the Rams. Always quick to call his dad or Nino with the latest sports news.
Phillip worked as a machinist and was known for his love of outdoors, camping at Three Rivers or the mud hole, jet skiing and listening to music (often taking over). Despite being born with a heart condition that required multiple surgeries, Phillip lived life with courage, resilience and an unwavering sense of joy, enriching the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Diane, his children Henry Thomas and Hazel Tallulah
De Leon. Siblings: Paul A De Leon (Lisa) and Paige A De Leon and many extended family members and friends. Phillip is preceded in death by his brother Sal Carlos, his Nana Celia Bejarano and grandparents Manuel and Ruth De Leon.
Phillip will be remembered for his laughter, fun-loving nature and a unique stubbornness that endeared him to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
