Peter Tom Dragich was born May 5, 1935 and passed away July 17, 2022, at the fine age of 87.
Young Peter and his family moved from Bainbridge Island to San Pedro where it became his home. He attended local schools and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1953. Peter served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea for two years. Returning home, he found employment in the Retail Clerks Union working at local markets and later became employed at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a Machinist/Tool and Die Maker involved in fabricating many state-of-the-art parts and tools still used today for the assembly of aircrafts, both military and commercially.
Peter married his true love, Lucille, in 1964. Through this union came Julie Ann and Cindy Kay, and their families. They were doting grandparents, active in their lives, helping and supporting anyway they could all the while instilling strong family values and traditions with a tender heart.
Peter loved a good party and was the life of it. He was an active member of the Dalmatian American Club where he and Lucy were regulars on the dance floor and where he could be found at a card table playing with his poker buddies. He was an avid bowler, puzzle maker and ruthless card player. Peter enjoyed his daily exercise regimen followed by gatherings at the local coffee shop with his gym family.
Peter is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lucille, his parents John and Violet, sisters Grace, Mary and Katie, and brother John. He is survived by daughters Julie (Anthony) Di Tucci and Cindy (Vince) Pirozzi, grandchildren Andrew (Esther), Megan and Peter Di Tucci and Michael and Kara Pirozzi, great grandchildren Landon, Parker, Charli and Johnny Di Tucci, his brother Tom, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
We would like to give special thanks to Glenda and her caregiving team who tended to dad with love and affection the past few years.
Graveside service will be held Friday, July 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dalmatian American Club of San Pedro in Peter’s memory.
