Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend Pete McCarroll passed away on October 2, 2022. He died peacefully in his sleep at home.
Born in Wilburton Oklahoma, December 20, 1925, Pete moved to California with his family when he was 14. Pete honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.
At the age of 22 he met his true love Lillian Alfaro; they married in 1948 and started a family. Pete loved racing cars, boats, motorcycles—anything with an engine. He passed this love on to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pete was proceeded in death by his parents Emma Ola and John Edward McCarroll, brother Johnny, sister Dorothy, Grandma Mary, and sons-in-law Pat Gaffney and Pat Underwood. Pete is survived by his loving, caring wife of 74 years Lillian McCarroll; children Nancy, Pete Jr., Chrisy (Danny Stern) and Busy (Baird Banner); grandchildren Michele (Del Lafountain), Eric, Melanie (Martin Snow), Bret (Tricia McCarroll), Alana (Amado Abeyta), Larsen, Lela and Logan; great-grandchildren Madison, Madelyn, McKay, McKenzie, Dane, Shaefer and Everly Rose; many nephews and nieces; and countless friends.Pete never met a stranger, and was a second father to many. He loved us all. How lucky we are to have shared such a man.The family sincerely appreciates all the love, prayers and caring hearts during this sad time. Services will be held on October 17th, 2:30pm @ Green Hills Cemetery, 27501 S. Western Ave,. Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
