Paul Rubinstein

With his loving family at his bedside, Paul lost his valiant battle with cancer on April 21, 2013. Paul was born on November 26, 1938 on the Lower Eastside of New York. He attended the University of Maryland where he was admitted to its Dental School in 1959. Upon graduation, Paul went on active duty in the U.S. Navy where he was in charge of mobile dental units stationed in Norfolk, VA. In 1965, Paul received his honorable discharge and then moved to California. Paul married the love of his life, Sandi, on June 4, 1966 and they became longtime residents of Rolling Hills and later, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. In June 1968, Paul opened his dental office in Lomita, CA, where he practiced until his retirement in 2000. Paul loved to travel, ski, play poker, tennis, watch his beloved Angels play baseball, his daily walks with Sandi along the cliffs of Palos Verdes and basically anything to do with his family. A stranger to no one and a friend to all, Paul always exhibited a huge heart and positive attitude to everyone. He leaves behind his wife, Sandi, his four children, Jamie, Donna (Chris), Ari and Vanessa (Devon), and grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Jake and Riley, who fondly referred to him as "Papa." A celebration of life is planned for Paul in early May. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in memory of Dr. Paul.
