Paul Anthony Mantellino

After a two-year courageous and heartfelt battle fought with cancer, it is with utmost sadness that we inform you of Paul Mantellino's passing. Born May 28, 1943, the Rancho Palos Verdes resident passed away peacefully on September 30, 2015.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Marie Mantellino and his brother Jimmie Mantellino. He leaves his loving sister Marguerite (Jim) Hussey, nephews Jimmy Mantellino, John (Paula) Hussey, Paula (Dave) Head, Michael Mantellino, Michelle (Paul) Farrow and Nancy (Jeff) Perez. He also had several great nieces and nephews and many cousins as well. Paul also has an aunt, Margie Berte of Bangor, Maine.
Paul attended Mary Star of the Sea High School and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona College. He then became a State Farm Insurance agent in downtown San Pedro where he thrived for over 48-years. He also coached Mary Star Connie Mack Baseball for several years and won the Connie Mack College Series. He was a referee for high school football and helped others to get started in the venture.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2015, 10:30am at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, San Pedro with a private burial to follow in Green Hills Memorial Park.
