Paul Michael Kleiter

June 4, 1943 — April 5, 2018

Paul Michael Kleiter! The Man! The Myth! The Legend! Pardon the language but he knew Jack Shit! He had a sticker that said so. He escaped his broken down body on April 5, 2018 and is now exploring the universe. Paul loved his wife, ice cream, his grandchildren (PKism. . . only reason to have children is because they give you grandchildren), cookies, his daughters, and anything APPLE. Not necessarily in that order.
Paul was full of opinions, advice, knowledge, and laughter, but mostly he was full of love. If you were to measure your life in love, his would have been the biggest and the best (PKism. . .you never run short in the land of plenty!) Paul was an artist, a friend, a lover of music, and was it said a lover of ice cream? He was pleased that many of his grandchildren inherited “the ice cream gene.”
Paul was a caretaker. If a problem needed solving, he was the guy. He was sensitive. He was kind. He occasionally put his arm around total strangers. One of the conditions he suffered with caused his heart to become stiff and rigid, ironic for a man who had the softest heart.
His nephew, Jordan, said, “I know when I go to heaven he will have a really big Christmas tree bigger than all others waiting. There is no roof or sky in heaven so the tree will be really, really big. I know his ice cream will be better than ever. As for now, we can watch Uncle Paul’s garden flourish for he planted many seeds of love and warmth for his family and friends to enjoy. But his garden was getting too big to water, so God said, ‘Paul I believe you can water your garden from up here’ and Uncle Paul does not want to hold us back, so now he can water us all from Heaven up above and watch us blossom cause the view from below is just not as good.”
So, with Paul in mind, let’s “Make America Great.” Remember him, honor him, cherish him. Do something kind. Say hello. Make a new friend. Pay your respects. Love, selflessly, unconditionally.
We encourage you to share your memories both here and at his Celebration of Life. There will be a memory box at the celebration if you would like to bring pictures, or write something ahead of time.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Multiply Myeloma Research Foundation. A Tribute page has been established in Paul’s honor https://tribute.themmrf.org/paulkleiter
