Paul Donald Andersen was born on July 30, 1936 in a small hospital in Freemont, Nebraska. He enjoyed his first years there (until he was eleven years old) before moving to the Alhambra area with his family. He attended Alhambra high school where he met lifelong friends; friends he would spend years traveling with. After high school, Paul enrolled at Pasadena City College while working with his father at a local print shop. He then went on to UCLA all while participating in the National Guard. His National Guard service was something that he was tremendously proud of. After Paul graduated from UCLA, he went on to teach at Hawthorne High School, home of the Beach Boys. It was through the Centinela Valley Unified School District that he met his cherished wife of 38 years, Patricia. Paul and Patricia had two first loves, Betsy and Steve. Their second loves are their grandchildren Sean and Emma. Paul taught at HHS for almost 38 years. After retiring, he began his second career as an employee of his son Steve's print shop (Snappy Print). He worked with Steve up until the last year and a half of his life. He went home to be with the Lord on August 22nd and he was surrounded by those he loved most at his passing.
Paul is survived by his wife incredible Patricia, daughter Betsy, son Steve, son-in-law Ken, grandchildren Sean and Emma, his beloved second family, the Skas's (Charlie, Jim, Barbara, Debbie and Richelle), many extended family members, his HHS family, many friends as well as his sisters and their families.
Paul will be greatly missed by all who loved and cared for this incredible man.
