Patricia Quatrine Flanigan

October 8, 1938 — October 8, 2023

Born in 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, Patricia Quatrine attended Girls Catholic Central High School and has a lifetime of memories with her dear sister Maryjo, who flew out to surprise Patricia for her 85th birthday. Unexpectedly, on her birthday, Patricia had a seizure and passed quickly and peacefully.

After marrying, and living in Lake Orion, Michigan, Patricia’s family moved to Palos Verdes Estates in 1972. Patricia was a successful and outgoing real estate agent with Harrington Realty and Roberts Realty. With three daughters and her open door policy, the Carter house was home to many PV High kids coming over, spending the night and feeling welcomed throughout their high school years. Patricia also played tennis, loved to travel, and acquired many friends in the community who describe her as a lot of fun, included everyone and generous. She was close with a local and talented tile artist, Gemma, whom Patricia helped. In turn without asking, Gemma created a beautiful Palos Verdes Peacock wall tile that will always represent Patricia’s generous spirit.

Patricia was an active member at St Lawrence Martyr Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, on the Homebound Ministry and Widowed, Divorced and Singles Ministry. She was a faithful Catholic and always kept her “I am a Catholic” ID card with her priest’s information on her. Going to breakfast with friends after Sunday mass was a ritual where lots of laughs and friendships were enjoyed. She cleaned out old cigar boxes and brought to her grandchildren’s school with baubles, sequins and decorations to make God Boxes with their classmates. She was adored by her late husband James Flanigan and cherished by many friends from Riordan’s Book Club, St. Lawrence Martyr, Palos Verdes Golf Club and her bridge, mah jong groups.

Patricia is preceded by her mother Mary Taormina, father Fred Quatrini, brothers Charles Quatrini and Bo Quatrini, and her husband James Flanigan. She is survived by her Aunt Violet Quatrini Schultz, sister Maryjo Benoit (Chuck), daughters Pamela Carter Haase (Tim), Gina Carter Ellis and Christine Carter Conway, second children Siobhan Flanigan Devlin (Brian) and Michael James Flanigan. Her family is also composed of grandchildren, Nina Ellis, Bo Ellis (Erin), Isabella Ellis, Sophia Haase, Grace Conway, Quinn Conway, Conner Devlin, Jenna Devlin, great grandchild Clay Ellis, and many nieces, nephews and their extended families in Michigan.
