Pasquale John Theodora

"Pat" Pasquale J. Theodora passed away Sunday, January 29th in Rancho Mirage, California, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Pat was born on April 30th, 1938 in New Jersey. He moved to California with his wife, Helen, in 1959. Pat was the first in his family to move to California, soon followed by the rest of the family. He was an Air Force Veteran who served on base in Hawaii from 1957 to 1959. Pat started his career working on telephone lines with Pacific Bell. During his time at Pacific Bell, he raised his family while attending night school, ultimately graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Cal State Long Beach.

Pat was the first in his family to earn a college degree. After earning his degree, Pat got his real estate broker license and invested in and sold apartment buildings in the South Bay. Shortly after his early retirement from Pacific Bell in 1982, he and his son, Patrick, started American City Mortgage in Carson. Over the years, the Theodora family grew the business to be the largest privately held mortgage banker in California. In 2000, the family sold American City Mortgage to Irwin Mortgage. Pat ran in two LA Marathons and numerous 1/2 marathons and 10Ks. Pat and his wife, Helen, split their time between homes in Palos Verdes and Rancho Mirage.

Pat was a beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Pat is survived by his wife, Helen Theodora; his brother, Gerry Theodora; his sister, Lorraine Harding; his daughter, Tammy Theodora Rozich; and sons, Patrick and Kevin Theodora; daughters-in-law, Ellen and Joy; grandchildren, Chrystal, London, Jaden, Kevin Jr., Brennen, and Breana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Torrance Memorial Hospital.
