Pari Sepehr

March 2, 1934 — February 8, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pari Sepehr, who left us on February 8, 2025, just shy of her 91st birthday in Torrance, California. Born on March 2, 1934, in Tehran, Iran, Pari bravely embarked on a journey to the United States to be reunited with her beloved children. Through perseverance and dedication, she became an American citizen, embodying the strength and grace that defined her life.
Pari, the beloved sister among nine siblings, shared an unbreakable bond with her family. She remained deeply connected with her sisters Mary Sarabaksh, Azar Fayaz, and her husband Hossain, as well as her brothers Bahman Sepehrnia, Mansour Sepehrnia, and his wife Homa. Though two siblings have predeceased her, their memory remained ever-present in her heart.
At the tender age of 17, Pari married the love of her life, Mahmoud Iranpanah. Their 72-year union was a testament to enduring love, filled with joy and cherished memories. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Jesse Wright, Ellie Horist, and Ed Hart. Residing in Los Angeles and Orange County, her children were a constant presence in her life, visiting her every weekend.
Pari's passions included gardening and sewing, where she found solace and joy. Tending to her fruits, vegetables, and flowers, she felt transported to another world. Her love for life extended to her family, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. A few days prior to her grandmother’s passing, Jessica Oliver traveled from Florida to be close to her. She held her hand, kissed and told her how much she meant to her. Jamie Herman from Pennsylvania, Mishan Vaid from Canada. and Armita Blain from Los Angeles, all spent precious moments with their cherished grandmother. Tim Horist Jr., Steve Horist, and Mark Horist also visited her throughout the years during family gatherings, ensuring her heart was always full of love.
Pari was known for her cheerful, kind, and affectionate nature. Her boundless love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was evident in everything she did. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she delighted in making those around her happy, even tipping the nurses in her nursing home to show her appreciation.
She is survived by her oldest son Jesse, his wife Olga Wright, and grandson James Wright. Mishan and her husband Jesse Vaid, with great-grandchildren Mia and Mason. Daughter Ellie and her husband Tim Horist, their five children: Jamie Herman and her husband Ben, with great-grandchildren Oliver and Ruby; Jessica and Ryan Oliver, with great-grandchildren Braylen and Eden; Tim Jr. and his wife Raene Horist; Steve and his wife Michelle Horist, with great-grandchildren Noah, Vincent, and Giani; and Mark and his wife Rachel Horist, with great-grandchild Mason. Youngest son Ed and his wife Michelle Hart, daughter Armita, and her husband Jason Blain, with great-grandchild Jace.
The loss of Pari's presence leaves an emptiness that nothing can fill. Yet, we find comfort in knowing that her love lives on forever, in the moments and memories we shared. Though she may no longer be physically here, she is everywhere: in the laughter of her grandchildren, in the stories we tell, and in the love she so effortlessly gave to everyone she met.
