Oscar Florente Ferrer Jr.

Oscar Florente Ferrer Jr., 50 passed away peacefully on January 1, 2020. He was a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes. Oscar was born on July 3, 1969 in the Philippines to Oscar Velasco Ferrer Sr. and Rosario Florente and raised in Fresno, California.

Oscar is survived by his loving Husband Ty Hokanson, his mother Rosario Ferrer, his sisters Maria Connie, Bernadette, his brother Marcos, his uncles Marceliano, Richard, Raymundo, his Aunt Alice, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was one of the happiest, kindest, most thoughtful people you could ever meet and he opened his heart to everyone he knew. Oscar graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1992 and had a successful career in medical devices/supplies sales. He worked for 3M Medical Solutions Division as the Strategic Manager for U.S. Medical Markets.

After a 25 year relationship, he married his husband Ty Hokanson on November 11th, 2018 in Redondo Beach, California with his beloved dogs, Duke and Chase, serving as the ring bearers.

In his spare time, Oscar and Ty enjoyed yachting on their boat "Time-Off" sailing around the waters of Southern California and taking trips to Catalina Island. Oscar especially loved his fur babies Chase, Duke and Cali the cat.

Oscar will always be remembered for his compassion, zest for life, generosity, infectious smile, and thoughtfulness.

Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. A Celebration of Life in remembrance of Oscar will be scheduled at a later date.
