On May 6, 2020, Norma "Nene" Lopez left this world to illuminate another. Born on August 18, 1951 in Mandaluyong, Philippines, she was brought into this life to share a genuine love for others and to demonstrate wholehearted forgiveness. As an educator, Norma instilled discipline and compassion in pupils in the Philippines and America. She dedicated her career to enlightening young minds at Ascension Catholic School in Los Angeles, CA where she taught 1st Grade for 30 years. Outside the classroom, Norma instructed family and friends on the beauties of life. She was the heart of the dance floor and every conversation. Her light shone brightest when she laughed after a long night of gathering with loved ones. She faced hardship with unwavering faith and hope; a feat that continues to inspire those she leaves behind. Her immutable strength of character and courage live on in her daughter, Maxine, her husband, Maximo, and her many siblings, nieces and nephews. May the lessons she taught and the love she gave never fade. Eternal rest grant onto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she Rest In Peace. Amen.
