Norma Bauer, 76, passed away on Sunday, February 8th, 2015 surrounded by her daughters, Margaret and Kendra .
Norma was born in San Pedro, CA and lived her 76 years between there and Rancho Palos Verde. She was a graduate of Dominguez State College and worked as a social worker for the County of Los Angeles for 30 years.
Norma had a real zest for life. She was a world traveler visiting such places as: Thailand, Switzerland, Brazil, Ecuador, Germany, Spain, Italy, London, England and Paris, France. Norma was a host Mom to numerous students from around the world and spoke many languages. She loved animals and enjoyed her cats, dogs and birds.
Norma was a graduate of the Los Angeles Police Volunteer Academy. I remember how much fun she had with the other volunteer's sitting on stake out's. She along with the other volunteers were very successful in assisting the police officer's in arresting vandalism suspect's. I remember how much fun the volunteer's would have during the stake out's laughing and joking together.
Norma is survived by her two daughters: Margaret Mazotta and Kendra De Los Santos and son: James Bauer, two grandchildren: John Mazotta, Jr and Christina Fishback, and great grandson: Dylan Fishback, and numerous friends who became like family to her.
Visitation will be on Monday, Feb. 16 from 9:00am to 2:00 pm. Service will be held at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verde on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at 11:00 am.
