Norma Tito Abrajano, 89 years of age from Torrance, California passed on Saturday, April 19, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Juan F. Abrajano and a mother of three. She leaves behind her legacy of children and grandchildren: Anthony and Kelly Abrajano, parents to Cate and Charley; Jay and Susan Abrajano; Claire Abrajano and Sehjung Hah, parents to Kira and Laura; her cousin, Corazon Rasmussen and husband Dennis, and bountiful relatives, in-laws, nephews, nieces and a generation beyond, was her love and priority.
Norma led a productive, giving life in her community and state. For 32 years, she worked for the California Children’s Health Services in Los Angeles as a Senior Administrative Analyst, helping
thousands of children and their families receive the healthcare they vitally needed throughout her years of service. She was dedicated to the children of need, as well as, to her colleagues who continued to seek her counsel years after her well earned retirement.
Earning her B.S. in Accounting at University of the East in Manila, Philippines, Norma set her sights on working in government where she met the love of her life, Juan. Together they ventured to cross the Pacific and plant new roots in the U.S., raising a family amongst a tight community of family and friends in Torrance, California. Juan and Norma were married for 60 years. Together, they built a nurturing, stable, and comforting home for their three children, children’s families, and all other family and friends that came into their home.
Most important to Norma was her faith and family. Her commitment to leading a life of generosity and selflessness was apparent each day. She touched many with her warmth, lively personality, encouraging patience and understanding to all who knew her. Norma lived a life fruitful with happiness and gratitude. She was blessed, as were those who got to know her.
Norma loved to cook, collect and test new recipes, crochet/knit, watch cooking shows, movies/ international novellas and MOST of all—spend time with her family whether at home or anywhere her travels took her. Laughter, story-telling, joys and sorrows were witnessed in their heartwarming home of 50 years. Her loving presence will be missed so dearly. We know she joins her parents, her brother Senencio, her sister Lydia and the ones who departed before her to be in God’s embrace. It eases our hearts and minds she is in such blessed company!
