Nila M. Springer

Nila, the daughter of Anthony and Maude Springer, was born in South Dakota and passed away peacefully, at age 89 on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Nila graduated from Florence High School in 1942 and attended Faye aircraft Technical Institute in Omaha. Nebraska. In 1943, she was employed by the Glenn L. Martin until 1947 when she joined the Tumpane Company Inc. and retired in 1987 as Vice President & Corporate Secretary after 40 years of service. Nila enjoyed all sports, especially bowling and golf. Due to health problems, she quit both sports in 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Hazel Murphy and Alma Hvidhyld, and her brother, Chris Springer. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Gene Murphy, Niel Hvidhyld, Betty Helmrisch, Karen Mischke and Gary Springer and several grand and great nieces and nephews. The memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 9:00 AM in the Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes.
