Born December 21, 1921 in Tooele, Utah to Dan and Anna Elich. The youngest of five, graduated from Tooele High School in 1940. He attended Utah State in Logan, Utah where he met his future wife Vida Graves. They married on July 29th, 1942. They moved to San Pedro, shortly after. Nick worked in the shipyards on Terminal Island during WW II as a master welder. Afterwards, he worked for Star Kist Foods for 37-years. He retired in 1983 as the Superintendant of maintenance.
Nick was preceded in death by his brothers: Anton, Joe and Martin. He is survived by his wife of 70-years: Vida and his sister Helen of Tooele, UT; his nephews: Jim and Rick Graves, who he raised as his sons, and granddaughter Jacy Graves.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, 9:00am at Green Hills Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
