Natalia Larios McDonald, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes, on the morning of March 1st 2020, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Annette and Dennis Trani, in San Pedro. By her side were two of her loving children, Annette and Rudy.
Natalia was born on December 23, 1923 in Sayula, Jalisco, Mexico. In 1952, she moved to San Pedro with her husband, Jose McDonald and proudly became a US citizen.
Mama, as she was known to those who knew and loved her, was a fantastic cook and loving homemaker for her large family. Mama loved to travel, and enjoyed many trips to Europe, South America and Mexico. In 1991, she set sail on a 35 day voyage with her son Gabriel, on the President Kennedy, an APL cargo ship. Together they visited San Fransisco, Alaska, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. Despite heavy storms and rough seas, this was the trip of a lifetime for Mama.
Mama was a faithful Christain woman, and a member of Mary Star of the Sea and Holy Trinity churches. In 2001, Natalia and Jose renewed their marriage vows in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Preceded in death by her husband Jose, sons Lawrence and Dennis, left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Jose and Stacey, Rudy, George, Albert, Gabriel, Natalie and Steve Berman, Darlene and Chris Huntington, and Annette and Dennis Trani. Mama is also survived by her daughter-in-law Ann Johnson, former sons-in-law Michael Coughlin, and Kevin Goff, along with over 30 grand and great grandchildren, numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and lifetime friends.
A visitation and gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 8th at Green Hills Memorial Chapel 27501 S. Western Ave. RPV, 90275.
