Miyoko Hamasaka

Miyoko Hamasaka, 98, beloved mother of daughters Jan (Leo) Martyn and Judy Kaizuka, grandmother of Amy (Jason Lee) Kaizuka and Ian Martyn, and great-grandmother of Jasper Lee, passed away peacefully at home. She was devoted to her family who spent many enjoyable times with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tatsugoro and Kaoru (Ochi) Okita, her brothers and sisters, and her loving husband, Katsuji, and son-in-law, Thomas Kaizuka. She was born in Portland, Oregon, moved to Los Angeles where she married, and finally settled in the South Bay after internment in Rohwer, Arkansas. She was much loved and will be dearly missed. A private graveside observance and a celebration of her life will be held later.
