Mitsuko (Mitsy) Arakawa was born November 26, 1930, in West Los Angeles, California, and she passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. She lived to be 92 years old. She was a wife to Tadashi Tom Arakawa (predeceased) for 62 years and mother to Mary Arakawa and younger daughter Suzanne Shimaya (spouse is Fred).
She married Tom in 1959 and they had two daughters. Both Mitsuko and Tom lived an earnest life as hard workers and provided for their family. Mitsuko persevered to regain her radiology license after taking care of her children for 10 years to re-enter the workforce and was an x-ray technician for almost 20 years of her life. Mitsuko and Tom had successfully purchased a house in Gardena and provided a college education for their children.
Mitsuko handled life changes with grace and humility. She was a strong woman who took care of her family while balancing a career.
Mitsuko believed in looking at the positive side and not dwelling on negativity. She was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. Her insightful advice and wisdom guided us through life’s ups and downs. We find solace in knowing that she will forever be a part of us
