Mitsue Takatani

Mitsue ("Mits", "Mitzi") Takatani beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on June 17, 2023 in Torrance, California at the age of 90. She was born in Ookala, Hawaii on July 18, 1932 and was a Torrance resident for over 50 years. She was a devoted and loving homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, exercising, making jam and preserving fruit, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her siblings Molly Kumura, Hajime Asaeda, Mitsugi Asaeda and Katsumi Asaeda. She is survived by her daughters Valerie (Peter) Fowler, Myrtle (Neill) Yamamoto, Yvonne (Lawrence) Oki, Eileen (Stephen) Dann; Grandchildren Daniel, Mitchell and Maia; Great Granddaughter Madison; Sisters Chieko (Harry) Oshiro and Miyoko (Peter) Maeda, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, followed by interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu at a later date.
