Melissa A. Haus

Melissa Aldanese Haus of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2023, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Melissa was born on July 23, 1961 in Manila, Philippines. She is the second child of Dr. Bienvenido and Amelita Aldanese. She was raised in Pasig City (Manila) and attended high school and college at St. Paul’s College in Quezon City, Philippines. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in 1981 majoring in hotel and restaurant management.

After graduation, she began her career in the hotel industry at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the Philippines. In 1983, Melissa immigrated to the United States continuing her career in the hotel industry working as Reservation Manager for Trusthouse Forte Hotels. She eventually went into sales working at Rockresorts, Lana’I Company and Nancy Rosene Associates.

In 1990, Melissa met Ed Haus and they were married on July 9, 1994. In the ensuing years, Ed and Melissa raised four beautiful children; Jonathan, Edward, Kenneth and Lauren in Rancho Palos Verdes. Outside of work, Ed and Melissa spent their time attending their children’s tennis matches, basketball games, soccer games and baseball games.

Melissa was predeceased by Dr. Bienvenido Aldanese. She is survived by her husband Ed and her children Jonathan, Edward, Kenneth and Lauren, her mother Amelita, brothers Alfred, Doey, and sisters Weng and Techie.
