It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Melanio Paual Gumpal, who left us on July 23, 2024 at the age of 84.
Mel was born on July 22, 1940 in Jones, Isabela in the Philippines and was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Rosalinda Gumpal, whom he missed dearly. Together, they built a beautiful life and he was the loving father to four children: Melinda, Jane, Tess and Rommel. He was the beacon of love and compassion for his family, always putting their needs above his own.
Throughout his life, Mel was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his incredible kindness. He was a beloved teacher for many years in the Philippines. When he came to the United States he worked tirelessly until his wife was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. He stopped working and lovingly cared for Rosalinda throughout her battle with Parkinson’s disease. His unwavering dedication and compassionate care for her were a testament to his boundless love and strength.
In addition to being a dedicated caretaker, a loving father and grand father, Mel was also a beloved friend, very supportive, and a man of many talents. He enjoyed cooking, billiards, and his passion for caring for his wife was evident to all who knew him.
Mel will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his generosity, and his kind heart. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Melinda and son in law Ranj Khindri, his daughter Jane and son in law Fred Salazar, his daughter Tess, his son, Rommel and his daughter in law Christina Gumpal. He is also survived by his sister Lolita Gumpal Fletchetero. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Markie, Meera, Kaeli, Rhea, Janelle, Madison, Dylan, Kyle, James, Mia, Nikki, Chirstoper, Deven, Jacob, Romelina and Melania. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Aiden, Antonio, Arelinda, Abel, Blizzo, Silas, Levi, Jaxson, Miles and Julian.
Mel’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
