Megan Patricia Rexroad

December 4, 1991 — October 1, 2015

Our beautiful, smart, funny daughter Megan Patricia Rexroad passed away in a traffic accident Thurs., Oct. 1 in Long Beach. She was 23 years old. Megan is survived by her mother Mary-Ann; father Craig; sister Hayden; grandparents Mille & Stanley Jelenick; aunt & Godmother Cindy Jelenic; aunt & uncle Janie and Ante Baskovic; aunt Pam Rexroad; Godfather Jeff Creighton; cousin, Kristina Baskovic Fileti; cousin Ante Baskovic; cousin Michael Cecchino; Godchild Branko Prebanda and more than 30 extended loving cousins and family.

Megan was someone you could always count on to say what was on her mind, whether you were ready or not. She laughed and hugged with abandon. She was a caring and loving friend, and considered all her friends to be family, providing advice, assurance and comfort whether it was requested or not. Megan was devoted to her Godchild Branko and his siblings Jade, Skye and Hunter, she would often stop by just to get her "kiddo fix," as she called it. She tested several jobs before finding one that fit her to a "T" at MTI Education. Her taste in music was eclectic and she was a prolific reader across multiple genres. If Megan had lived in the 1920s, she would have been a member of the women's suffrage movement believing women should have the right to vote, run for office and should have the same opportunities as men. She was an empowered young woman herself.

Megan grew up in Long Beach, CA and was a graduate of Poly High School, where she played on the varsity girl's tennis team. She also attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton CA, where she excelled on the speech and debate team and was the Vice President of the PRSSA Chapter.

The family will receive friends on Fri., Oct. 9 at Green Hills Mortuary & Memorial Chapel from 5 – 8 PM at 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Sat., Oct. 10 at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 870 W. 8th Street in San Pedro.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting one of the organizations that Megan believed in, the Women's Shelter of Long Beach at www.womenshelterlb.org/donations/ , (562) 437-7233.
