May Y. Doi

May Y. Doi, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated community leader, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the age of 98. Born in 1926 in Los Angeles, California, May attended local schools until her evacuation to Heart Mountain Relocation Center in 1945. She was married to Carl (d. 2013) for 64 years and raised three sons: Ronald (Marion), Kevin, and Conrad. She was a devoted grandmother to Trisha (Paul) and Justin (Kristen) and great-grandmother to Jayce, cherishing every moment spent with them.
May earned an Associate of Arts, cum laude, from Harbor College in 1969, followed by a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in 1971 and a Master of Science in 1972 from the University of Southern California. May was a proud USC alumna and a huge Trojan football fan.
May’s life was a testament to dedication and community service, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Private services to honor May Y. Doi will be held.
