Max Leon Hernandez, was born in Wilmington, CA on August 31, 1928 and passed away on Monday, July 23rd in San Pedro. He graduated from Phineas Banning High School and soon after, went to fight in the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He returned and met Aurora, his wife who he adored and longed to be reunited with one day after she passed in 2002. Max worked many years for ILWU-PMA. He lived a life full of love, countless memories with loved ones, and an endless stream of honesty and humor. He was an upright man and never faltered in remaining humble and holding his family as his highest priority. A long-time San Pedro resident, he enjoyed listening to music - Frank Sinatra and Glen Miller, watching sports year-round, and dancing. He will forever be missed. Max is survived by his two sons, Manuel and Gilbert; daughter-in-law, Isabel; twin granddaughters, Marissa and Elizabeth, and great grandson, Milan. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday from 4:30-8:30 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel in Green Hills Mortuary. A church service at Holy Trinity will take place the following day, Monday July 30th at 10 A.M.
