Maureen Keener, 92 went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 29, 2018. She was born on May 7, 1925 to Huber and Parelee Bell and was a life-long resident of San Pedro. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Keener. Maureen's parents attended First Baptist Church of San Pedro where she grew up, met her future husband, was married and raised her family, as well as taught Sunday School with her mother in the Beginners department. She attended Cabrillo Ave Elementary School, Dana Jr. High and graduated from San Pedro High School in the summer of 1943. After high school Maureen worked as a bank teller at Security National Bank. After raising three children she worked at Bank of America at the 10th and Pacific Branch in San Pedro where she retired after 30 years. Maureen maintained close relationships with the members of her graduating class who still hold yearly reunions as well as the tellers she worked with at Bank of America. She was very knowledgeable about San Pedro and it’s history and loved sharing her knowledge with others. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Keener (Wendy), two Daughters, Kathy Keener and Kerry Keener, Grandsons Casey Keener and Trevor Keener (Lauren) and Great Grandson Dylan Keener. A viewing will be held Monday, May 7th at Green Hills Memorial Park from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, May 8th at 1:00 p.m. at Rolling Hills Covenant Church, North Chapel located at 2222 Palos Verdes Drive North, Rolling Hills Estates. Interment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
