It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew Xenophon Glavas announces his passing on May 5, 2018. Matthew will forever be missed. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Erika Glavas and his three precious sons, Max, Zeke, and Sam, his father and mother, Xenophon and Pamela Glavas, by his sister Elizabeth Parwar and her husband Sasan and three sons, his brother Stephen Glavas his wife Elin and two daughters.
He will also be remembered by his sister-in-law Melissa Carnehl her husband Bryce and son, brother-in-laws John and Michael Paltin, mother-in-law Christine Bielson and her husband Wes. He will also be remembered by numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Matthew was a graduate of Palos Verdes High School and University of California, Berkeley after which he joined the United States Coast Guard where he rose to the rank of Commander as a search and rescue pilot, stationed at San Diego and San Francisco. Upon leaving the Coast Guard he received his MBA from the Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Erika and Matt moved to Yardley, Pennsylvania where he pursued a career as an executive in the pharmaceutical industry and where his three sons were born. After ten years he and his family relocated to Rancho Palos Verdes to be near family.
His funeral will be held May 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenhills Memorial Park, 27501 Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes. Celebration of life to follow at 29518 Stonecrest Road, Rancho Palos Verdes.
