Mathew John Sumich

Mathew John Sumich, the son of Robert and Alminia Sumich Sr., passed away peacefully on November 3, 2012 at the age of 81. He was born on September 19, 1931 in Tacoma, Washington before moving with his parents to San Pedro where he attended schools and lived for 27 years. Mathew is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Sumich, Jr. and a son Gregory John Sumich. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Judy Hector Sumich, daughter Elisabeth Sumich and son David Sumich, and cousin, Steven Bebich. He lived and worked in Palm Springs for the past 53 years as a designer/artist. He maintained life-long connections with family and friends in San Pedro, including membership through the Croatian Fraternal Union and the Dalmatian American Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dalmatian-American Club Scholarship Fund of San Pedro or the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes followed by an interment site service.
