Mary Smallwood

Mary Smallwood passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, in Torrance, CA at the age of 91. Mary is survived by her sons, Gary and Michael Smallwood of Torrance, CA. She is preceded in death by her son, Donald Smallwood, and husband, Emmett Smallwood. Mary was born on March 15, 1924, in Morgan City, Alabama. She married Emmett in 1946, and they moved to California in 1956. Shortly after arriving in CA, she worked for Harvey Aluminum in quality control. She worked for various other companies over the years. After she retired, Mary loved outings to casinos and trips to Laughlin, Nevada. Mary had a great sense of humor and was a generous, witty and dedicated individual who loved her family and her grandchildren. She took daily walks and enjoyed meeting new friends. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
