Mary Catherine Shaw

Mary Catherine Shaw of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, passed away on December 2, 2015, with her children by her side. Mary was born April 8, 1926, in Glasgow Scotland the daughter of Patrick and Mary Reilly. She was united in marriage to Donald Shaw on July 7, 1951 and they were married for 58 wonderful years. Mary owned and operated Happy Face Pre-School, a popular pre-school/day care center for over 45 years in Torrance, CA. When not working, Mary was a world traveler. When not traveling, she loved to spend long visits with her family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Don. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Patrick Reilly, William Reilly, Michael Reilly and sisters, Annie Reilly and Teresa Davis. She is survived by her sister, Veronica Christeson. She is also survived by her two children and their spouses: Don and Peggy (Toll) Shaw and Clay and Sandra (Shaw) Carter. Mary has three loving grandchildren, Joshua Shaw, Shannon Shaw and Reilly Carter. A Funeral Service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, Dec. 12th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 21100 Victor Street, Torrance, CA 90503. Following the Service will be a funeral procession to Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
