Mary Virginia Rodriguez

Mary Virginia (Carmona) Rodriguez, "Cha-Cha," born in Roswell, New Mexico on June 3, 1928, passed away peacefully at home in Wilmington on June 2, 2013, at 84 years of age. Virginia attended Banning High School (Class of 1948) after moving to California with her parents. In 1952 while visiting family in Roswell, New Mexico, she met Richard the love of her life and they married in Roswell on September 5, 1953. In 1954 they settled in Wilmington, California where they raised their three children while Richard worked as a longshoreman from Local 94. Before her marriage Virginia worked for Douglas Aircraft as a riveter and at Starkist Cannery in Terminal Island. Virginia had been a member of the Wilhall Sr. and the VFW Sr. Virginia is survived by her husband Richard, children Dennis Sr., Denise, and Eric; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 5 to 9 PM, with rosary at 7 PM at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes; funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro.
