Mary T. Pecora

Mary Pecora passed away at the age of 91, peacefully at her home, on October 17, 2012 with her family by her side.
Mary was born on May 6, 1921, to Sebastian and Mary DiPietro in New York City. She was first generation Italian and grew up in the Little Italy section of New York City. In 1937 she married George McNamara and had two children George and Patricia. In 1976 she moved with her family to California and was a resident of South Bay for over 37 years.
Mary had many hobbies and loved to stay active. She attended adult school, studying a variety of courses from sewing, scrapbooking and International cuisine, to yoga and aerobic exercise dance. She loved to travel often with her close friends. Her ultimate passion was cooking Italian cuisine for her very large family.
Mary was a vivacious person with a wonderful spirit, and was an inspiration to all that knew her. She is much loved and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Pellicano, step-daughter, Connie Sperrazza and daughter-in-law, Marie McNamara. 9 grandchildren, Donna McNamara, Matthew Pellicano, Christopher Pellicano, Janis Torres, James Sperrazza, Maria Leonhardt, Susan Hines, Shane and Beca Sperrazza. 5 great grandchildren, John Zuanich, Nicole Davidson, Bryan McNamara, Jake Carmona and Scarlett Pellicano. 1 great-great grandson, Chase Davidson. Her extended family includes Al and Lisa Pellicano.
Mary was preceded in death by her son George McNamara Jr. and grandson Jack Pellicano.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd from 3-8pm, with a Memorial Service to be held on Wednesday, October 24th at 11:00am at Green Hills Memorial Park Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
