Mary Janice (Jan) Crosbie

Mary Janice (Jan) Crosbie went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2014. Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Bill Crosbie. Jan was born on June 26, 1932 in Little Rock, Iowa. The family then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. where she graduated from Washington High School in 1950. The family then made the big move to Los Angeles in 1952. She lived the last 62 years in the South Bay area. Jan was an accomplished road racer in the 1950's. Jan raced all over California in her beloved MGTD and Triumph TR-2. She went back to college at LA Harbor College and graduated in 1981 with an Associate in Arts degree and from there became a Registered Nurse. Jan was an active member of the Colleagues. She was also active in the Assistance League, serving as President on the local level and then held a Chair on the National Executive Board. Mom loved reading to all the children at the Palos Verdes library. Jan is survived by her sister Sandy (Gerry) Perry. Jan's 4 children, Kevin (Debbie) St.James, Lori Ann (Dan) Edwards, Robert (Charlene) Burch, and Bill (Brenda) Crosbie. Jan's 7 Grandchildren, Shannon (Greg) Rash, Steven St. James, Eileen and Devan Edwards, Melanie and Jake Burch, and Jessica Crosbie and Jan's 5 Great Grandchildren, Benjamin, Jonathan, Samuel, and Naomi Rash, and Lexie Edwards. The service will be held Friday March 14 at 9 a.m. in the Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Assistance League in San Pedro, California.
