Mary Deguchi

Mary Deguchi passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on June 6 in Los Angeles. Born in Gardena, California, she lived in both northern and southern California before settling in San Pedro for the last 65 years.

Mary worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses and managed rental properties. After retiring, she enjoyed tending her garden, doing jigsaw puzzles, and visiting with friends and family.

On April 17, 2021, Aki, her husband of 65 years, preceded her in death. They will both be deeply missed by their children, Karen (Nathan) Ginosar, Tammi Wong, Ricky (Cindy), and Jeffrey; and grandchildren, Brian, Laura (Merrik) Lugo-Pavia, and James Wong. They are also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews.

There will be a viewing Sunday, June 23 from 4:30-8:30 pm and a funeral service on Monday, June 24 at 2:00 pm both at Green Hills Memorial Chapel. The burial will immediately follow the funeral.
