Lelia Mary Louise Daily, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, in Torrance, California. Mary Louise was born on August 18, 1918, in Gallup, New Mexico, to James and Anna Bontems. Mary Louise moved with her family to Los Angeles at the age of 7 and graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale. After World War II, she spent 23 years in her late husband Hubert's hometown of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and she returned to her much-loved Southern California following his death. Mary Louise had excellent accounting skills, and she enjoyed her work as a bookkeeper until she was over ninety years old. Mary Louise's most cherished moments were those spent with her family, and she was a great source of strength and love to those who knew her. Mary Louise was predeceased by her husband Hubert; brothers Jim and Ed; and granddaughter Melissa. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Annetta) Daily of Rolling Hills Estates, CA, and Glenn (Dee) Daily of Collierville, TN; her siblings Stan Bontems and Lynelle Carhill; siblings-in-law, Anne Bontems and Ken Carhill; grandchildren, Kristin, Nathan, Mary Katherine, Jeanne, Tony, and Robert; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Katelynn, Scott, Ella, and Emerson; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Green Hills Mortuary. Her favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
