Mary Constance Brahim

April 19, 1950 — June 15, 2025

Mary Brahim passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of Rose and Salvatore Cimino. In 1971, she moved to Los Angeles to follow her passion for fashion, attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. There, she not only earned her degree, but formed lifelong friendships that remained dear to her heart.

Her career in fashion and design was more than a job - it was an adventure that took her around the world. She poured her creativity, heart, and vision into everything she touched, collecting beautiful memories and meaningful connections along the way. But her greatest joy was in the everyday: preparing meals for those she loved, tending her garden, walking the beach hand-in-hand with her beloved husband, and sharing quiet, precious moments with her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, good food, and laughter—an extension of her generous, nurturing spirit.

She faced life’s challenges with remarkable grace and strength, especially in her final years. After being diagnosed with lung cancer, she met each step of her journey with hope, courage, and resilience. Even as the disease progressed, her spirit remained strong—buoyed by her deep love for her family and her will to keep living fully, however she could.

She will be remembered for her kindness, empathy, and the way she made people feel truly seen and loved. Her smile lit up every room, her words comforted, and her presence brought peace. She gave so much of herself to others—quietly, generously, and always with love.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Brahim, daughters, Ashley Brahim and Carly Ackerman, brother, Joe Cimino, niece, Lauren Rulli, and nephew, Michael Cimino. As we gather to celebrate her life, we carry with us the legacy she leaves behind: one of love, strength, and connection. Her memory will live in our hearts always.

A church service will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church at 10:30am on Saturday, July 12, 2025 followed by a gravesite service at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums in Hillside, IL.
