Marvin Gary Mallyon was survived by his wife, Zenaida Mallyon, daughters, Sylvia, Maria Luisa, Lorna, and Doreen, and his sons, Marlon, and Mauro. He was also survived by many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Marvin was born in Los Angeles, California on August 10, 1940 to Clarence Albert Mallyon and Doreen Hartley Mallyon. He attended Washington High School in South Los Angeles. Marvin furthered his education by receiving a Bachelor’s of Science at Pepperdine University in Business. In the middle of it all, he received a draft into the army for the Vietnam War. He met his first wife Petronila in 1975, and they were quickly married in the fall of 1975. He would go on to raise 5 of his 6 children on his own with the help of his wife’s sisters, Florencia and Zenaida, after Petronila’s death. He worked hard for many insurance companies until he landed a job with the California State Department of Insurance as a Compliance Officer. He would have a 20 year career with the agency. Upon his retirement, Marvin spent time with his children and grandchildren every opportunity he could. Sadly, he passed on, Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 6:00 A. M. He will be missed as he was loved.
Family and friends of Marvin are invited to share their favorite photos, video memories and heart felt messages on his Tribute page on the Green Hills Mortuary Website.
